Grass isn't for everyone. Watering it, mowing it, dealing with dead patches - it adds up fast. A lot of homeowners are ditching the traditional lawn in favor of something that actually works with their lifestyle instead of against it.

That's exactly what this front yard xeriscape was all about. We graded and shaped the space to create defined planting beds separated by a smooth, curved gravel pathway. The pathway flows naturally from the sidewalk toward the side of the home, giving the yard both function and a clean visual structure.

The gravel beds are bordered by larger natural boulders that anchor the design without looking forced. It's a nice balance - enough visual weight to feel intentional, but not overdone. The dark mulch bed near the center gives a spot for plants to grow in while keeping the overall look low maintenance.

What we love about this kind of hardscaping work is that the results are lasting. Once the grading is done and the materials are placed, there's very little upkeep involved. No irrigation systems fighting you, no weekly mowing schedules. Just a clean, well-designed yard that holds its shape season after season.

Xeriscaping done right isn't just practical - it genuinely looks sharp. This front yard is a good example of how thoughtful excavation, grading, and hardscape layout can completely change how a home presents from the street.
