Boulders are one of those things that look simple but are anything but. Getting them into exactly the right spot - at the right angle, with the right spacing - takes real equipment and a good eye. That's where we come in.

We've been working on a variety of boulder projects lately, and no two are the same. Some calls for a rounded river rock border wrapping a full garden bed, packed tight and low to keep things clean. Others need large angular fieldstone boulders set individually throughout a mulched bed to create that natural, organic feel. The approach changes depending on what the space needs - and what the homeowner is going for.

Our New Holland skid steer does the heavy lifting on these jobs - literally. Some of these boulders are massive, and there's no safe or practical way to place them precisely without the right machine. We can get into tight spots, position a stone exactly where it needs to land, and do it without tearing up the surrounding landscape. That matters a lot when you're working near established plantings or finished hardscape.

The finished results speak for themselves. A well-placed boulder stops being just a rock - it becomes a focal point. Paired with fresh mulch, ornamental shrubs, and thoughtful softscaping around it, the whole bed takes on a completely different character. It looks intentional. Permanent. Like it belongs there.

Whether you're thinking about a boulder-lined border, a natural rock garden, or just a few statement pieces to anchor a planting bed, we have the equipment and experience to make it work. It's one of those upgrades that adds serious visual weight to a property without a lot of ongoing maintenance.
